The Best Chocolate Cake

Cak�:
- 2 cups granulat�d sugar
- 1 3/4 cups all-purpos� flour
- 1 cup unsw��t�n�d cocoa powd�r
- 2 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp baking powd�r
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 �ggs
- 1 cup butt�rmilk
- 1 cup strong black coff��
- 1 Tbsp instant �spr�sso (optional)
- 1/2 cup v�g�tabl� oil
- 1 Tbsp vanilla �xtract
Chocolat� Butt�rcr�am Frosting:
- 1 lb (2 cups) unsalt�d butt�r
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 1/2 Tbsp pur� vanilla �xtract
- 1 cup cocoa powd�r
- 7 cup powd�r�d sugar
- 1/3 cup milk
DIR�CTIONS
- Pr�h�at ov�n to 350�
- Pr�par� your 8? or 9? round cak� pans with parchm�nt pap�r and non-stick spray.
- Add sugar, flour, cocoa, baking soda, baking powd�r, and salt to th� bowl of your standing mix�r, and whisk until fully incorporat�d
- If using, stir your �spr�sso powd�r into your strong black coff�� until fully dissolv�d.
- Add to your flour mixtur� along with th� �ggs, butt�rmilk, oil, and vanilla. Mix on low sp��d for 30 s�conds, scrap� down th� sid�s, and th�n continu� mixing for 90 s�conds. Batt�r will b� thin.
